    Cool Sparkplug problem

It seems that every time I go for a full power blast A sparkplug will fall apart,
The insulator will detach from the metal body.Is this a sign of too much compression,or something else?

It sounds more like a burned plug from detonation to me.

This can also be caused by over tightening the spark plug. This is most common with the Denso Iridium plugs that have been over tightened.

I am using Champion RJ12YC plugs and I can see no indications of burning but the detonation could be the problem.I am wondering how to check for detonation since the beast seems to pull so nice and has a crisp loud exhaust sound.

Might want to take it to a dyno so you can see what the A/F ratio is assuming the dyno has a wideband o2 hookup. Make sure you are running more conservative timing also.

I checked the timing yesterday and max. was 34 btdc.I am using a MSD BTM and it was set to start at around 3lbs boost and 2 degs per lbs,I changed it to start at
0lbs and 3 degs per lb of boost.I will see if this makes a difference then will start
checking if the secondaries of the Holley 750 have to go richer.
