HAS ANYONE EVER KEYED THEIR CRANK WHILE THE CRANK AND ENGINE IS STILL IN THE CAR?

I know this can be done, but was wondering how it was done? I have seen several cars that have had their crank keyed while the engine was still in the car. Is there a special tool you need to do this?

I am referring to keying the crank so that the crank damper won't spin. My car does not have the ky ways on it. I have pinned my crank damper, but I don't trust pins...I think they can snap...especially when you have 850-900 RWHP.

I want to key my crank without taking the crank out.

what about just making a special pin out of tool steel or something?
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D
