    10 rib users, Info inside

Not sure if this will help anyone. But since I've been doing some research on ten rib belts and lengths. Dayco has supplied me with this and I thought I'd share. These are for the DAYCO Poly Cog Gold 10 rib belts. Part numbers and lengths. Gates and Goodyear seem to have similiar lengths.

5100495 example this is a 10 ribbed belt that is 49.5" long
    5100510 51.0" long
    5100518 51.8" long
    5100533 53.3" long
    5100540 54.0" long
    5100555 55.5" long
    5100568 56.8" long
    5100575 57.5" long
    5100585 58.5" long
    5100600 60.0" long
    5100608 60.8" long
    5100613 61.3" long
    5100630 63.0" long
    5100635 63.5" long
    5100640 64.0" long
    5100655 65.5" long
    5100660 66.0" long
    5100665 66.5" long
    5100678 67.8" long
    5100710 71.0" long
    5100720 72.0" long
    5100730 73.0" long
    5100770 77.0" long
    5100845 84.5" long
    5100855 85.5" long

Sweet! That'll help for sure. Hey what would a ballpark length be on a 351, 8" crank, 3" blower pulley setup? Since you've been at this a while. :teeth:
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

Vortech sends the 5080565 with the 8 & 3" pullies. However, I used a Gates belt of 25-080595 (60"), yet I mounted my braket on my 351 motor with the 302 mounts. This put the blower more to the left and up higher. So if you use the 302 mounts I would say try the 5100585 58.5" long or the gates 25-100579 (58.5").

Also Gates ending number aren't always the size in incehs. Close but vary.
    Isn't this fun!

Yup that sounds about right. I can't imagine very much belt slip with the 3"/8" 10-rib stuff but time will tell. I can't quite make the cog commitment.

You'll be fine with the t trim.

I might run the 3.33" 10 rib and 8" crank, cause i really do want bracket car like consistency. I'll bring the assortment but i doubt i'll need it. :D

this spring will be a scream. The poo will hit the air oscilator when scott finds out the smack has already begun. :D

    Another belt note....

Just read on LS1tech about a guy who was fed up paying $$$ for his 12 rib belts.
He decided to try 2 6rib belts instead. They worked perfectly for him.

You want to be careful though that the 2 six ribs stretch together or that you have some sort of strut support from the SC to Ccrank. What can happen not necassarily is that when the bracket flexes the belt closest to the radiator will have less tension and may fly off. Not necasarraly, but the posisbilty is there. The odds of it happening are not as great as it not but if id does and you burn the paint in the enginge bay, you'll be .

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in....

I just use a local store. Go tyo there website www.dayco.com and click on the Parts & Service locator tab. Then enter your Zip. This should pull up the dealers in your area. Call them and tell them the part number you want. They then should hook you up!

Blownby what would you recommend for a 358" windsor car with a T trim. Looking for around 18-20psi. Do they make a 10rib setup that would get me close to this without belt slippage.Auto car with 6200-6400 max rpms. Thanks
