    5spd-fox guys- what rear gear

hey all- i got a quick question-

what rear end gear are you 5spd guys running-

i ask because people are saying that 3.73's are too low for my setup-and that i should switch back to 3.55's to take advantage of my power range

    thanks in advance

There are a lot of factors when it comes to gear ratio. The main one for a track only car is how high do you want to spin it and at what RPM do you want at the finish line.

Last year I ran 4.10, 4.30 and 4.56 gears. My car like the 4.30 gears the best.

I have 3.73's and I think they're too low. I think 3.27's would be better.

Scott why would they think 3.73's are too much? 3.73's and 27" tires would be a great combo with a 5 speed. 26's might bounce the limiter before the traps.
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

    -

people have said that since i have the tremec with the 3.27 first gear that id be "better" off to change back to a higher gear- to take better advantage of boost-

i dont really know either way- i was just wanting imput from guys who have tried differnt things-
