    Cog vs. serpentine

What are some of the pros and cons of running a cog setup on a 70% street 30%strip car? Just bought a used kit and wondering if the cogs are too harsh for the street. One theory I have is that I am not going to have to tighten the sh*t out of the belt to keep it from slipping. But I worry about daily driving (ie downshifting) with such a direct drive. Any input?

Supposedly the serpintine belt slip is good at times,, like what you are talking about,, on decelleration,,, Now I think if your blower has the heavy duty bearings it is OK to use the COG belt all of the time,,,, Bee
