    The Bare Essentials

My original plan was to keep everything under wraps until everything was done, but Doug has inspired me. So here's a peek at the transformation of the GT in progress...

Pulling the old motor this past weekend. This was a first for me. One consolation was that when I drained the oil, I found a nice milkshake. I guess the last run at the track really did a number on the car (I lost the differential as well).

Managed to get the engine out and up on a stand. Ready to head off to its new owner

Here's the empty engine bay ready for some body work to cover up all those holes in the firewall.

And finally, a shot of the interior. The new cage is in, but everything else is out. I'll be rewiring, but I'll be doing away with all of the non-essentials

There's still so much to do. It will be a little while yet before I'm back on the track. I think the wait will be worth it.

Ummm David, you can actually remove the engine without having to pull the front clip :p

Looking good though, can't wait to see the finished project man!!

It might be heavier, but w/the aero advantage it will for SURE be faster. Not to mention c ler. Now if we can only get a Cheby motor in there, it would just FLY!!!!! LOL.

Way to go amigo, dont you just love being in the middle of a torn to pieces car?

If you didn't have to sit in them I wouldn't put the seat covers on those.

    Those are awesome seats!
