TFS-R-BOX INTAKE

I just found out it wont fit under my hood, maybe if I had a 4 inch but mines only a 2 1/2! This is on a 351 so its a little higher to start with. I guess Ill keep the regular upper and sell the box.

cant you take off the spacer to lower it some

The spacer is actually an adapter flange. I dont know if they make different thicknesses or not, but I totally removed it and its still too high for my hood.

i don't believe you can use it without the adapter, you can have it machined down though.

So if you order the upper and lower with the box setup, you have to run that adapter flange? :weird:

yes. this may be only if you have the fuel regulator in stock location though. when i get mine tomorrow i will post again on it.

Yes you have to use it. I was trying to figure if I were to machine the intake and the flange if I could squeze it under there. I thought I could safley take an inch away but if I went any more the holes uderneth the intake would have to be drilled deeper and may go into the plenum.

i got my intake today,

all i can say is, it's going back to the people who sell it. i'm not happy with the quality of the machining. near the tstat housing there is some clearencing done, and it also exposed one of the bolt holes for the upper to lower intake. for 650 dollars (cost of spacer also) the quality sucks to me. this can't compare to holley in terms of finish.
I will not be happy with it if i keep it, so why bother.
by the way
all of the factory stuff will work, you have to use the spacer, as it is actually an adapter flange.

Sorry to hear that, I never saw any machining issues with any of my trick flow parts. I am going to call the to see if they have different flanges. By the way the box is 2#s heavier than my regular upper.

If someone would have done some better quality control, i would be installing this instead of sending it back. as it is i have no plans of getting rid of my holley. not like i need to anyway. in the future if i think of going to a box, i might go to a reichard upper that works with the holley lower.
