    Timing settings aren't universal, of course. The recommended setting from paxton is likely a nice safe compromise but, conditions vary, engines vary, you need to set it to suit yours.

    However, I agree, the stock timing settings should work, unless you're running high compression iron heads. Consider also a slight blockage in the fuel line, which recently lead to a bad bout with detonation for me, at my local track.

    The stock fuel pump, if in absolutely mint condition, will just cover 275 horsepower. Any SN setup will beat that easily. More margin needed there, volume-wise.
