    S-trim-316RWHP-19lb injectors!

94 GT AODE 122k miles, with a Vortech V1 making a belt slipping 8 lbs of boost at 5400rpms, 12:1 FMU with 19lb injectors, feeding fuel from a Walbro GSS340, timing at 8* and no timing retard, or Chip/Tune... Otherwise completely stock motor
( 65mm t/b, and exhuast) How bad is it to be running with this set-up? I know its pretty risky, and ive been getting away with it in the winter (nice cool air) Now all the sudden its summer time, and along comes the humid hot air, and now ive got some pinging, during the warm mid day. Question is, what injector do u recomend i go with, ditching the FMU of coarse. And what kind of base timing could i get away with safetly, with a tune?

Hey i see u have a 342.....any chance u bought that from Central coast? I have been looking at there 342longblock with AFR185's
Only thing is, i dont want the x cam, since i doubt it will work well with my automatic. Wonder if they could substitute an E cam or similar. Also i notice the shortblock consist of a scat stroker kit. Does this come with Forged pistons/rods/crank? Since im going with a new motor and adding the blower, i'll just go with 42's for my current motor, then re use them for the 342.

Also, how did you like the quality with the motor, overall? Would you recomend them to a friend, looking for a motor? What did you pay to ship the motor?

    A/F

I assume this number (316) comes from a trip to the dyno. Did you get an A/F ratio print out? I have a friend with a totally stock (I mean down to the rockers and mass air and cats with the exception of a 190 in the tank) with a S-trim that made 300rwhp at 5600' (358 corrected if I remember right). He is using no retard or T-rex and has never had any problems. He is even running a leaner disk in the FMU (8:1). His A/F ratio was great. Of course this number was with the higher altitude and he does have an aftercooler but I believe he has a way to go before needing bigger injectors. Just my two cents.:)

Yes that 316 was from a dyno pull on Jake Lamottas dynojet.
It is sae corrected. No i did not get a a/f ratio print out. He just told me it went above 12:1. The reason its so low it becuase first off, i have a power robbing aode.. so figure in 25% drivetrain loss, then i was at 55feet altitude, temp was 85, and it was pretty damn humid out. Also i was not aware that the egr pipe had poped loose, so i had a nice exhuast leak. I am running no boost retard, no inline, and a 12:1 FMU.
Walbro gss340 intank with a bbk regulator. I know im running lean up top. Im just going to go with 42's, and be done with the FMU. And tune it myself with the tweecer. Other then that the motor is all stock. I know it has 350rwhp in it with the right injectors and a tune. Not bad at all for a stock aode with a blower.

    Numbers

I wasn't trying to say your numbers weren't impressive or trying to dog you in anyway. Just trying to add more info. I was just saying that I thought you could get by with what you have for now but if you are getting new injectors anyway that's cool. Wasn't at all trying to put you down. If that's what it seems like, sorry.

get steel crank get it cut for dual key ways.

i have a friend who is engine builder who held the record for fastest small block chevy street legal car in world. so i wanted

Well if i was to go with another block it would be the Dart, only becuase its mostly finished and ready to go, unlike the R block.
I see they go for 2k though, which is pricey.. My combo will consist of the S-trim(7"/2.95" Powerpipe) AFR 185's, not sure on cam, but i want somthing agressive, Systemax, or RPM intake, and a scat forged 331-347 stroker kit with a main support, all ARP harware, and 8.5:1 compression. Now, would this motor make more h/p and tq then what the stock block can handle, even with the main support? I would guess it would make around 500-550RWHP through an AODE. I am on a budget of 5-6k in the motor.
Honestly, if i shop around, do you think i could get the engine im looking for in the budget?

so u think i would be ok with the b50 sportsman block?
Im sure they can put together a deal with the block i need.
I didnt know the X cam would work with the AOD, since it seems pretty agressive. Guess i need to do some more reading.
Dont worry, im not even thinking of using my old AODE.. either i will go with a built AOD, or rebuild my AODE with upgraded parts, and a good convertor. The AOD is so much cheaper, in price..
Seems like i can get a decent AOD for $1400. Decent AODEs go for 2600-up, then the convertors are $600-800.
Would i built AOD handle 500-600rwhp and similar torque?
Give me some details on your AOD and convertor?
