    Crazy H.P.

I just went to the Dyno with my Holley upper and lower/10:1/ 327 all forged internals stock block/42lbs. inj./255 intank/T-REx Inline/AFR 185's/ 598 lift roller cam I cant remember all of the cam specs off the top of my head/P.M.S/S-Trim with a Power Pipe/ 6.78 crank and 3.0 blower pulley. I also have a Methanol Kit.(cause of the 10:1 compression) Without the Methanol I made 520 Rwhp and 500 rwtq at 4800 and ended up at 550 RWHP and 530 RQTQ at 5300. I mean the power is great and all but I cant use it with the stock block. I mean I can't shift at 5000 rpm with a 6300-6700 rpm cam not to mention my 3.73's gears and TKO 600. What should I do? My boost gauge is showing like around 15. I have never heard of anything making that much with 6.87 and 3.00. ( And yes I re-verified the pulley sizes) I guess I am going to put on a 3.33 Blower pulley and see what happens. Maby then I cant use the Meth and make aorund 550/550 at around 6200. I guess we will see. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!!!!

That sounds pretty good. Some may have to do with the higher compression. mustan5069 made 530 at the tire on a 302 with the holley sytemax II kit and a s-trim with 6.87 and 2.95 pulley at 6,000 and 13 psi.

OUCH!! That must have made a dent in the pavement! -In fact after the first pull at the dyno this spring, my tuner looked at me and said " Umm, what block did you say you had here?" Then went on to tell me about the stock ones signing off at or before 500.

I was coming out of the burnout box at Milan. The car made a big bang then died. For some reason I thought it was an axle shaft or driveshaft. The starter ran over and told me not to refire the car and pointed to the hood.

I pushed it off the track and popped the hood. When I did noticed the belt was shreaded. I thought "Hell I can throw another belt on and get home". The only problem was my balancer was laying on the core support "OUCH".

Now I have a Dart Block with all the goodies.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I would like to ask what clutch set-ups are used for 500+ rwhp? Does anyone use an 11'' set-up.

I smoked my CenterForce Dual friction. I went with a Spec Stage 5. Its grabby on the street -takes some getting used to, and once in a while it does get you at the light. I was going to go with a stage 5 pressure plate with a stage 3 or 4 disk, but there was a wait, so I went 5 all the way. Its the ticket at the track when the slicks are on though.

A SPEC stage 3 held up real well in my Real Street car. It looked like brand new when I took it out.

Spec 3 as well in mine and a RAM 900 Clutch Disk I got from RS NOVI worked well with my SPEC pressure plate in my setup too.

Hey 93GT, I was just wondering with the spec stage 5, do you get anykind of low rpm vibrations with that disk? I have the stage 4 in my car now and my car has a low rpm ,high load vibration in 4th gear almost like if you put a car in the wrong gear at a slow speed. I just bought Chris's stage 3 because the stage 3 disk has springs in it and figured this would dampen the vibration. I know the 4 and 5 dont have springs in the disk and I figured this was the cause.

oops sorry i don't mean to hijack your thread.

I guess my real question is, Do the springs in the clutch disk actually dampen vibration? I was wondering if you noticed an increase when you put the stage 5 in?
