    Novi ratio's vs boost

    Hey guys this is my 1st post so hi to all and maybe I can get lucky here with a little help!

    I built a 393 based 351, I am just a couple of weeks out now from getting this thing dynoed and I would like to try to have all my pulleys available at one time.

    My goal for the car is to make around 700+ flywheel horse or to be able to run 9.80s or so in a 2900lb car.

    The Novi is rated for a max impeller at 55000 I think. I am using a 7" crank 10 rib, I have a 3.5", 3.25", and a 3" blower pulley

    by my math it equals these impeller speeds
    3.5" = 46020 @6500
    3.25" = 49560 @6500
    3.0" = 53690 @6500

    I know boost is relative to restriction and abilty of engine but I would just like to be close, rest of combo is below

    393w comp 8.9 to 1
    canfield heads 300 cfm @.6 INT .205 cfm @.55 EX
    Super Vic efi, 90 mm throttle body
    83lb inj
    Hyd roller 230 @.05 .603 max lift int
    250 @.05 .578 max lift ex
    116 lobe center
    Areomotive Eliminator kit
    msd dig 6
    Big Stuff 3 efi with 2 bar map
    2" inch kooks headers

    Think I have the correct pulleys to pull this off or I am going to need to search for an 8" crank pulley?

    Thanks in advance

    Chad

    You'll probably be around the 700 fwhp with the pullies 7" & 3" and you should be close to the 9's with a 2900# car.

    You may inevitably want to get an 8" crank. The 8" and the 3.25 would be awesome combo, plus little to no issues on belt slip and a little more boost.

    I plan to run a 3.13 and an 8.6" next year on a 2000 and 351. I currently have a T trim I'm looking to swap out. I shift at 6400.

    You definitly can spin the blower at or above 55,000 rpms' especially on a serpentine setup.

    I ran a 6.80 and a 3.70 setup on my car with a 306. It made at least 650 rwhp on a 306 with unported TFS TW heads and a TFS Street Heat intake. I have no doubt that my car was capable of going 9.90s at 3250.

    What RPM and boost were you at?

    It made 16psi at 7300 RPMs, 23psi at 8000, and I never got a chance to look at 8500 rpms.

    I know. That is why I switched to the 1200. The NMRA has the blower too handicapped to be competitive in Real Street. Last year was the first year that I was able to figure out how to spin the motor high and make a little boost. If my cam could make power up to 8500, then the 2000 would still be on my car.

    Its a new double keyway cog/serp design, so far it is very unsussesful.

    I actually made my own pulleys, pic below

    "That is a small blower pulley."

    Lmao.

    Nice pulleys....What's up with the dual tensioner? All my supplied prints with my N2K came with those drawings cept mine only has 1 tensioner.

    Blowby, where'd you get the 8.6" pulley anyway?

    My Novi 2k had a dual tensioner. It was a nice setup. That is why I went with a Novi 1200 over the S-trim this time around.

    ASP made it for me...$$$$
    But they can make virtually anything you need.

    I wanted to be able to run as large a lower so as to be able to run a big SC pulley.

    ie 3.13 or 3.33
