    HELP WITH 60FT QUESTIONS

FRIDAY NIGHT WAS MY BEST. 11.60 @ 123.98 WITH A 1.80 60 FT. LAUNCHED @ 4000RPM WITH 12PSI IN THE ET STREETS. i'VE NOTICED THAT MY 60FTS ARE ALWAYS 1.8 THE ONLY SUSPENSION MODS ARE U/LCA W/ NO FRONT SWAYBAR. MY MPH IMPROVED FROM 121 TO ALMOST 124MPH!

    1)SHOULD I LAUNCH @ 4500/5000?

2)WHAT IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE SUSPENSION MOD I CAN DO TO GET 1.6 0R EVEN 1.5 60FTS?

    3)WHAT ET SHOULD I BE RUNNING @ 3360LBS TOTAL?

ANY HELP IN THIS AREA OF EXPERTISE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

Work your way up on the launch. Try 4500 then 5,000. You also may want to look at some different spring or 90/10 struts in the front. Does your front end come up much?

Also are you slipping the clutch or dumping? Maybe you clutch is only holding so well and limiting you to the 1.8 60'.

Also back in the day when I was ~3400#'s with a 5 speed and slicks however with a 3.55 gear I'd run a 11.2x's at 124 and mid 1.4x's dumping at 4500-5,000.

Best was 1.40 dumping around 5,500.
    SLICKS though

Oh yeah Granny shifter thought. Not a power shifter in any way.

Blownby i figured the car was good for 11.20's all day @ 124. the frontend comes way up. i'm dumping the clutch and i don't power shift either but I'm thinking it's the clutch. centerforce dual friction with about 3-4 years on it. one year with the blower. i made two passes that night and both runs i could smell the clutch disliking me. I'm gonna try to raise the rpm @ launch like you suggested. Everone's telling me to get a SPEC3 clutch.

BLOWNBY THANKS FOR THE ADVISE AND I LOVE YOUR SIG PIC. I BET 1.4 60FT'S ARE A BLAST MAN :D

SPEC 3 Is a good clutch. Make sure it is adjusted right. Seems if not they won't last long otherwise seem to be a good way to go. Plus light pedal feel.

If your clutch is slipping it's slipping during the entire pass. Maybe you'l run even better mph. If you work on it, you can go 1.5's on ET Streets without running extreme suspension parts.

I'm thinking the mph should be around 125-126ish, i have dynoed @480rwhp probably close to 500 with straight 104 octane. thanks for the advise PSJ.

I'd say 126-127mph if the clutch is slipping.
