    VR4 vs. Gear Drive

    Is there any reason for me to get a VR4 for $1750, versus a gear drive Novi or Procharger for $1200?

    Advantages or Disadvantages?

    No reason. If you can get a Novi 1000 used for $1200 that is a good deal if everything is in good shape. I would pass on a Procharger if it is $1200 because it probably has some real quality issues. lol. You can get a new Novi1000 for $1700 and is probably the best deal in the market EVER. I myself like the VR4 since I can get Novi2000 power and I have had the unit for years but for the average person the new units are a better deal.

    Welcome xman_di.

    A novi 1000 isn't going to be much improvement over your SN-60 on the Avanti (for the work you will put into it). You are going to take the time to fab up brackets-- put a real blower on it like a Novi 2000.

    Or wait for a VR-4, it will bolt right in.
