How do you know when a Vortech needs rebuilt?

Actually I have a T-Trim, but this forum looks like it gets more views.

The blower makes an ungodly growling noise while installed. It has no forward to back shaft movement and only slight play when spinning the pulley. No more play when reversing direction quickly than any other Vortech I have had. In addition the pulley spins freely but there is a growling even while spinning it by hand. It leaks no oil and boosts fine.

    Thanks.

    Everything seems tight?

Is it fairly new, been used w/ cogs or just serpentine setup?
    How many miles?

Havent the faintest clue. The guy I got if from ran it with cogs. It does seem tight. No play on the shaft and only a slight play when spinning it and changing direction.

Well there is supposed to be a little play when you spin and change directions as it's a gear set.

Have you had a blower before? As they make noise, so it may be normal.

But if there is just a very little play then it should be OK.

Better to play it safe than have something going throug the SC and causing more damage to it and the motor!

Cheaper this way than the other!
