Do I need the BTM included with the S-trim

Hi guys, the kit im looking at doesn't come with a BTM unit. Can I set base timing or will I need a chip?

you either need the btm or a chip with the boost levels of the s-trim. only an a-trim wouldnt need this.

A lot of guys on the Corral Lock there timing @ anywhere between 16*-20*

You can lock the timing, but the car will be a dog till over 3500rpm and you reach boost.

i have an s-trim and do not use the BTM and run 14psi with 14deg initial timing and 30deg total timing but thats with anderson's meth injection..if you can afford it get a PMS and tune with that, the BTM is not that great to tune with but it works, just my opinion though

Run the BTM until you are able to get a tune and then remove it
