    getting new 8-71 from TBS

i am taking the old BDS 8-71 off because it is not as efficient as thay said it would be[understatement!!!]i overdrove the BDS to 14% ove nd only got 10lbs of boost from the old 5%over and 8lbs.i got a whole lot of heat to go with it and the car slowed from the heat.i did try some fuel/timing changes but thay did not help.
i am getting a new blower shop teflon stripped 8-71 to replace the BDS.

What was wrong with the BDS unit? How much boost do you think you will have now? Are you going with the billet rotors?

    blower

the BDS unit would just not put out without teflon stripps.if ya want the rest of the story i can pm you.
i will get 10 psi at 5% underdriven not like the 5% overdriven with the BDS.i will have cast rotors with teflon gapped for gas use.
    from a hot rod article:
As with everything in life, nothing is free. All belt-driven superchargers need horsepower to run--sometimes as much as 20 percent of engine’s total. The good news is that the additional horsepower created by the blower will more than make up for power loss. The other concern with supercharging deals with the law of physics. High school physics taught us that when air is compressed, heat is created. The more efficiently a supercharger compresses air, the less heat added to the intake manifold. And we all know the cooler the intake charge, the denser the air and the more horsepower available.
Blower efficiency is measured by the discharge air temperature at a given pressure. For example, Blower A might have a discharge air temp of 180 degrees at 6 pounds of boost, while Blower B might have a discharge temp of 195 degrees. Blower speed also comes into play here. The higher the speed, the more heat generated. Supercharger manufacturers refer to a blower's efficiency in terms of adiabatic efficiency: how well it pressurizes air into an engine. For example, a Roots blower typically has an adiabatic efficiency of 50 percent, while a screw-type supercharger and centrifugal blowers can see up to 75 percent. Thus, higher boost levels do not necessarily mean more power. Intercoolers can lower intake temperatures by pushing the compressed air through a radiator-type device--but at the cost of boost pressure.

that is just some good info.

i am driving the blower at 3.3% under now and getting 10 psi and am waiting to get to the track.

    update:
at 18% over through the cooler i am getting 14lbs and here are some #'s attempt.
OK first the #'s then the excuses.
3 runs.all had the spark breakingup.
    1]559hp/574tq88pri/90sec jets A/F les than 10/1
    2]579hp/606tq 88pri/86 sec A/F under 10/1
    3]555hp/584tq 88pri/83 sec jets A/F under 10/1
the plug gap is .035ngk #8 mallert 29440 coil7ALign box.
i did not think to gap the plugs less.
i got no rpm with the chart due to the spark blowing out.the motor kicked pritty good a couple of times and realy stressed me out if it was ok.
i need to change the plug gap and the coil i have a MSD blaster 2 in the box still.
ok have at me for my neglect.
i would have changed the plugs but it takes a while and i had no time on the dyno left.
