    Upgraded sn2000?

Probably been asked tons already but how can you tell if a sn-2000 has been upgraded or not. When I got it I was tol it can do from 10-12psi. Not sure if I was lied to or if it has been upgraded and don't wanna put it on and be overboostin it or anythin...don't know too much bout all this

Right off, if you don't have another Paxton sitting around to compare it to, stock will have straight impeller blades, upgraded will have helically curved blades.

You could open up the back cover and look. It's really obvious. The blades are a tuliped reaction blade and the regular unit is a axial blade from root to tip.

Plus..If upgraded or not unless it is a VR4 your not going to get 10-12psi. Probably a more realistic 7-9psi.

so I have to open up the case to find out? It won't mess it up if I do that will it and are they always the purplish color if its been upgraded? I'd hate to screw it up if its been upgraded to vr4 and if it hasn't I'd like to do that down the road. What # injectors do I run for 8psi and then if I upgrade do I need to run higher for 10-12psi?

I felt the impeller blades through the hole in the back and it feels like they are shaped like a wave and facing in towards the blade in front of it. does that mean it has the vr4 mod?

Does not sound like a VR4. Take pictures and we can verify. I am not in town yet to post pictures myself till tomorrow evening. The VR4 impeller has 15-20 blades and looks like a impeller off a jet aircraft engine.

I do not know alot on these but from what I have read there is an upgraded impeller that fits in the SN-93 housing that provides a little more CFM abd boost vs. the stock impeller. In order to upgrade to the VR4 it requires a different volute (rear section of the SC).
