    Smile Help? -V-2 belt tension

    Hi Guys,
This is my first post to this great site and I would appreceate some advice on belt tension. I have a Vortech V-2 supercharger on a 94 porsche 928. The installer (apart from a list of buggerups) has lost the tensioner spring and I would like to check the belt tension before I get carried away. Can anyone tell me What the actual tension should be? and is there any "rule of thumb" method to measure the correct tension. TIA Ray

I can only say from Mustang experience that around 80-100 ft lbs. works well.

    Hi Sukkoi 19,
Thanks for the suggestion, this setting seems pretty constant across most SCs. I finally got a reply from Vortech, "thumb pressure at mid point of longest side of belt should give a deflection of 6 - 12 mm"

    Cheers
    Ray
