    Hello all,

I'm Dylan, I leave in Belgium and since 4 years, I owe a 68 Mustang which has been completerely restored 1 year ago.

The engine is a 331ci, Edelbrock Performer RPM package.
The transmission is a T5Z, SPEC clutch stage 2.
The rear end is a 9", 35 splines and Detroit Locker
The brakes, 13" front slotted and driller rotors, 11" rear

Why am I joined this forum? First "mrtbolt64" gave me the link to this forum. Next, I'm building a brand new engine and it will be built to be supercharged.

    Thank you

    Dylan

    Welcome to the forum Dylan.

Very, very nice ride indeed! WOW! I live in Sweden for most of the year, and I am always amazed at how many beautiful American cars there are over in Europe. Yours is certainly no exception!

Keep us posted on the progress of your new engine build. I'm sure the members here at SCH will be able to provide lots of great advice during (and after) the build.

    Hello,

Sometimes, life gives us a second try to stay alive...

40 minutes ago, I wanted to drive my 68 Mustang to kicking it, to relax but after a few miles, the night was coming up so I decided to come back at home...

I was close to my house, probably 20 meters, I wanted to stop at a crossroad (my current speed was less than 15 mph) and no more brake. Strange sensation, I thought the booster was dead but when it happens, it's tuff to brake and it wasn't... I put the car in my garage and I pushed the brake pedal once again and I heard a "pscchhiittt" at the rear left... I kindly asked my wife to sit down and to push slowly the brake pedal and in the same time I was looking at the rear, where I heard the "pscchiittt".

I presume the brake line coming from the floor on the junction on the rear end is dead... Brand new, already dead!!!

I spoke with a friend and we jiggled our mind about the bad quality of the parts we purchase now... Everything on my brake system is brand new, the 2 front brake lines running to the calipers are made by Ford Racing and the only last one is probably a crappy part from china or elsewhere...

This week-end, we will take a look closer to see what's going on...

At the beginning, I wanted to go on the highway but I have been lucky tonight...

    Dylan,
Things have a way of working out sometimes. I'm glad to hear this is one of those times. I forwarded your info to CJ, our GM for review. He has been swamped as usual but said he will try to get to it right away in the morning.
Again, glad to hear you are safe.

Thanks for your support and help Kim, I appreciate.

I forgot to add in my email: the outlet of the supercharged is facing the carburator or the radiator? Can we select where we want the outlet position?

OK, I will make sure CJ is aware of this. He is still struggling to get caught up.

Thanks Kim, I really would like to know how much boost I can get with different pulley ratio. Even if I get a lot of boost at low rpm, I could install a dump valve to avoir blowing the engine, no?

Yes, life goes on, we installed a new brake hose, I paid it $60 but it's a high quality rubber hose, we drove the car and waoow, it's good when you get brake!

It has been a long time and as I like this forum, I want to share with you my story.

Since last august, we have swapped the manual tranny for an automatic one. The main reason is: "Easier to handle boost when you change gear" and the second reason, as much as important, a bulletproof automatic transmission is cheaper than a manual one.

I finnaly bought a full manual C6 transmission, built by Jay @ Broader Performance in Texas.

This beauty is supposed to handle a 1000hp and a ton of torque. I also bought a custom built torque converter a beast as well.

I know a C6 eats hp but for me, better to be safe than sorry especially when you buy a transmission oversea and you have to add VAT and importation taxes, damned customs.

    Here are some pictures:

The transmission installation was not easy as we tought, we fought hard with the full length headers, we had to give up because the passenger side exist was hitting the servo. I bought shorty headers and these are perfect!

Next issue, how to make the Pro Ratchet shifter fits the floor console? We also fought hard because I like so much the interior and the final result is very nice. Check this out.
