    Hi Dave. Welcome to SCH.

Sounds like you've got a sweet ride. Post some photos if you can.

    64 Pontiac GTO photos

Here are a couple photos. The general exterior photo of the car was professionally done. Makes it look much nicer than it actually is. I just took the under hood photo. Only getting one or two lbs. of boost. Next step is to change pulley diameters and widths. Dave

WOW!!! That is one sweet ride! Very nice indeed.

One or two psi from a Paxton SN? The standard SN is capable of 5-5.5psi, so a new set of pulleys definitely sounds like a very good idea.

It's worse than that. It's a VR4. I'm told that it's a problem with a combination of too many cubes (455) and high flow heads (Edelbrock). We will see what happens when I get the pulleys, and the weather improves.

Not entirley, I have a 454 with big heads/cam and headers no cats and I got as much as 8 psi.
But I used 10 rib pulleys to prevent beltslip and a 3.5 inch blowerpulley, but be aware not to overspin the unit or it will fail.

How large a crank pulley did you use?

    Crank Dia.
    -----------
    Blower Dia. x RPM x 4.44=Impeller Speed

Keep the impeller speed below 45000 rpm.

    I use a 7.8 " crank pulley:
