Ok here is the deal, I am running an old style single belt Novi 1k so in order to spin the blower faster you have to change either the crank pulley or the blower pulley. I don't want to change the blower pulley because it will void the warranty.
I am currently using an F150 crank pulley which is 6.5"(stock is 6") in dia and produces 7.9PSI at 6K on the dynojet.
I found a 7.25" 6 rib crank pulley from another ford but it was a dual pulley and the crank face to pulley spacing was way off from a stock mustang, F150 setup. I cut the add on pulley and the hub out of the big pulley and now I need to know if it is feasable cut the hub off of my stock pulley and have it tigged to the larger pulley nice and true.
What do you guys think. Is this worth my time? A custom pulley of any kind from ASP is in the neighborhood of 250 plus. If I could get this welded up nice and true and strong for under a hundred bucks I would be the envy of all Novi 1k owners.:)
