    Breather or not

    Do i need a oil breather on my car when i install my 1k?

    If you have the stock valve covers, then no, you cap off your throttle body and run the hose from the valve cover filler to the airbox, all the hardware is supplied.

    It will allow unmetered air into the engine, which depending on ring blowby can cause lean surge problems, but the eec will detect the lean condition over time while in closed loop and compensate for it. This learning process starts over each time you reset the eec.

    You have to decide for yourself if this (mostly) minor problem is worth it for what you gain running the breather element (which is not smog legal BTW). Someone else can fill you in on all the pros, I believe mostly it helps with the crankcase pressure pushing out the PCV valve problem.
