Position of air filter cover

I have a problem with my air filter cover touching the side of the blower...does anyone else have this problem?? My mass air meter is clocked so it's right side up. Steve, I noticed that on your one pic of the pulleys, it shows the cover away from the blower...is there any secret to getting the air filter cover in the right place? Could I just zip-tie the cover so it's not toucking the NOVI?

Whistler: Chuck (93notch) has the exact same problem, it is VERY close. I would like to hear if Steve can fix it.

Yea, I mean I used the stuff that came in the kit and it's hitting the NOVI...WTF?!? It would prolly be fine if I used two screws for the bottom of the cover but (thanks Paxton) only two came with the kit.

One other question...what kind of pump do I have to use to get the gas out of my tank?? I want to install my fuel pump and I already have a pump (made by Griot's Garage) but it doesn't suck gas worth poop...is there a easy way to drain the gas that I'm missing?? I have about a half a tank.

Whistler: Easy as pie :)

Disconnect your fuel line, bypass the fuel pump relay which will pump the FP until the tank is empty. That way you can drop the tank without any fuel in it.

Simple fix.
Move your mass air into the hole with the filter inside the fender.
Not a true power pipe but cold air yes.

Excuse the dirt, LOL I live in Washington and drive in the rain.:D

Oh yeah that Vortech FMU is no longer installed.

FMUs are the devils brother to the credit card.:)

Thank Steve and Ian. It looks like I'm gonna tackle the fuel pump after the new year. With winter in Pittsburgh, I have about 3 months to putz around.
