oil, power, and sounds (oh my)

Paxton must have a lot to learn . my kit had more fit issues then any thing i have seen.
    1. blower need to be clocked more the it can be.
called about that guy told me to push down on it
    2. steel discharge tube was 2" to long had to cut that down
    3. I replaced most of the bolts in the kit with longer ones.

    4. at idle blower makes a nasty racheting sound but any rpm over
1000 and all i hear is a sweet wine.

I had a buddy crank my car and i held the oil line to the blower that was fun.
went out for my first run and had a little bucking but not bad, drove it about
10 miles, parked retighten all my bolts and checked oil . then i went out and beat on it and boy was it fast , but there is a but i guess my 3 year old short block has some blow-by and rear main seal problems now its bad to so it looks like i will just be rebuilding my little 306 until i can put together a bad 331 or 347. any ides on cheep short block that i can pick up fast
    ill post some pic's tomorrow

are you still using the 24lb injectors and the cobra 70 mm?? also what eec are you running? I'd put a new rear seal in it and see what happens before i tore the dss short block out......has it seen some abuse?
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

ya the 24 and 70mm with the cobra eec are still on the car now. the block looked good when we did the head change but. the car always had blow by from day one when i had the short block installed ing the car i had oil all over. so it would seem this block was not built right. also its been down on power all its life. i used a fly by night shop to install the short block 4 years ago. and there gone now. so i think a rebuil from some one i trust is not a bad idea. right now i cant even get this thing on the dyno because under boost oil finds all the holes.

would like to use the same block and try to upgrade the rods and pictons any ideas.

I'd stay away from a 347 if your car is a street car. A guy at the track went through 2 347s in no time. Now he just uses a built 351w to run mid 6s in the 1/8 :) I suppose a 347 would be OK if you dish out $2000 for a Dart block :)
