How tight should a cogged belt be?

Generally how tight should the belt be, should it have any play or it should be tight. How do you guys setup the tension?

Not very! Hows that for an exact answer. LOL! But seriously, you don't need a lot of tension with the cogs, unlike the serpentines. Just tighten the belt until it's pretty snug...... not so tight you can play a song on it.;)

I have stripped teeth off mine before. Fire it up rack the accelerator and see how much belt slack is on the non load side adjust as necessary{ a small amount of flex is normal} you will be suprised how much flex is present under load {dyno}:)
