Mheinjr, You will have no problem hooking with that setup!
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

Yep, sounds like a clutch replacement is in order. The Centerforce DF works well but I have seen some people who rev over 6500 having trouble with the pressure plate going over center, i.e. the pedal stays to the floor until the revas drop back down. Otherwise fine if you stay under 6500 rpm. I know several people running a Centerforce pressure plate with the Ford Racing HD clutch disc with very good results. On the Ford clutches, I would go with the King Cobra before the HD unit, it is a little more money but worth it for the lighter pedal. The Spec clutches have a good rep so far, as do the McLeod, but best to talk to their tech reps first to get the right parts.

As for getting better grip, my 60 ft dropped a good 2-3 tenths and street grip was greatly improved with the addition of HPM Megabite Jr. lift bars. They also helped reduce front end dive under hard braking. I'm also planning on adding drag springs & an airbag this winter along with adjustable Tockico drag shocks.

well I got my trans out and everything and well the clutch had a 5" piece missing on the pressure plate side. I am pretty sure thats why it was slipping. As it's off I still have to remove the flywheel and check the rear main seal "there is some oil back here".

While taking this off I broke a stud off in my shorty headers so now I have to get that arghhh, and I had a problem with the clutch rod :) I couldn't get it out right "I'm used to manual". That doesn't matter though I am going to buy the new stuff anyway. All In all I think the removal went quite well.

BTW: The clutch looks like it has a lot of meat left to it so what would make a chunk fall off of it anyway? I cheap clutch? Or maybe somthing else? I didn't put it in I baught the car like this so I don't know the brand..

Spec rules over CF. DO a search in the corral.

I have experience with the Cobra and the spec. I would not buy anything else but the spec until something better comes up.

I would just buy the steel replacement FRPP flywheel that summit carries.

If it were me I would just get the cast one.

    They work great mark.

Just don't for get to transfer the dowel pins over to the new one from the old one to align the pressure plate. IF you forget you will have nasty vibes.
