I was wondering if anyone knows how much torque it takes to turn over a balldrive, even a guess is good, mine turns over fairly stiff and Iam not sure if that is correct.

Min. 35ftlbs but a high boost unit just rebuilt to correct specs. should be close to 45 ftlbs. The unit does need fluid in it so that the pump is working because that drag is also figured in. If yours is on the low side you will probably still be ok, I have seen ones under 35ftlb build 5-6 psi but the heat just destroys the fluid and the impeller shaft.
There's an internal pump inside?
A mechanical pump inside pumps the fluid from the base of the unit to lubricate the bearings and the ball drive.
