HOW FAST AM I SPINNING MY BLOWER ???

    8" crank pulley and a 3" blower pulley at 6000 rpm ?

How fast is the impeller spinning ?

Whats the exact formula for figuring this ?

    Thanks everyone.............Frank :D

crank pully x engine rpm x step up ratio / blower pully = impellar rpm

I might try to order a custom 3.125 pulley from ASP this year if I get the urge(and i'm sure i will). The 3" is a little much if i over rev and i don't think the 3.25 they always sell would warrant a change in warranty status. ;)

Just do the 3" and set a rev-limiter to keep ya outta the RPM range that would over spin the blower, a little over shouldn't hurt things as I can bet there is a "fudge-factor" built into Paxtons claimed max RPM of 55k.

I figured the same thing sean, and it would be cheaper. Do you remember the MM&FF article when the Novi 1200 came out for the carb guys? They go the kit to test and a box full of pulleys and they were vortech pulley's stamped on them? food for thought, At least for us 8 ribbers. It would be very cool if i could just slap the 2.95 vortech pulley on there that are everywhere and a dime a dozen. they are double key way and we are single if i'm not mistaken?

Mines got dual keys so that may work as long as the shaft is the same diameter.

I might pick one up to try as I doubt I'd have a problem with resale on that one. Ready for me to buy that chain?
