I work for Conley Buick/Subaru in Bradenton as I have for the past 10 yrs as an auto technician......Hers my input on those cars,
The Riviera is Buicks test bed for new and innovative parts to be tested in the real world. The car has been dis-continued since '99 for lack of sales and for mechanical problems "not" related to the drive train.
The supercharged engines are awesome and have been used flawlessly in numerous cars over the years. (including Oldsmobile and Pontiac)
Long story short, If the car is in good shape with a good clean mechanical and service record and you really like it then go ahead and get it.
Just remember the electronic and electrical interior pieces are Riviera use only and are very expensive and NOT readily available.
