    Exclamation re gap spark plugs

do i need to regap my sparkplugs after the supercharger. i have not yet, is that why i have white smoke out of the exhaust on the passenger side? with a check engine light that says cylinder 1 misfire. when i checked the sparkplug it was collasped. i regapped it to .052. now it is ok. but when i get in hard it sputters. is this because of detenation?

For a blown application you need to run a step or two colder plug (depending on boost level) and pull the gap down to .028-.035", otherwise you risk detonation and "blowing" the spark out. .052 is way to wide of a gap.

More than likely you are experiencing spark blow out....

would that because of the sparkplug gap? this has been a 4000 dollar nightmare for the past 2 weeks

If the plugs were at .052 then I'd chance in saying yes that was a major issue....

White smoke is usually not a good sign (Headgasket in my expeience), you may want to do a compression & leakdown test to rule that out. If ya went lean, this may be a possibility.

Don't take my word as gospel though, I'm still a novice at this crap as well.

My question would be - Was it doing that when you picked it up from the shop?

I think you said that you had someone install it. I assume they test-drove it.
Say at 30MPH, put it in 5th and apply a little throttle. Does it feel like its missing? Under a load like that, you should be able to feel it missing/shaking.

Do you still have white smoke because spark gap will not fix that. How is your temperature gauge holding. Oil still clear. Just trying to catch something before you damage a bearing with antifreeze and throw a rod.

That still means your probably leaking water into a cylinder some place
