    BELT TOO TIGHT

    Has anyone experienced any problems with their blower belt being too tight.

    Are you experiencing problems? , ,, I have never had a problem with the belt being too tight and I keep my belt REALLY TIGHT,, of course there is extra stress put on the blower and crank bearings,... Lee

    No problems, i just wanted to tighten the s*** out of it, without worry.

    The biggest problem with over tightning a belt is you can wear out the front main bearing. The crank can actually bend and you wear the front side of the bearing down - I have seen it before. I suppose the same is true for the supercharger, it can't be easy on it.

    Having said that I know people who tighten the crap out of the belt and have never had a problem.
