David, I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade. Just removed the base off it, worked like a charm.

I used right and left handed tin snips, worked perfect.

I used a dremel tool with a cut off wheel on it. It took all of 10 minutes of cutting to get the job done. Too bad I don't have a blower on it anymore, now all I have is a big hole :(

I'd think the dremel would do the neatest job.
Die Grinder with a cutting wheel works well. Makes a good clean cut too.
I used a cutting wheel on the air compressor. they are like 25-30.00 if you have air.
