    Newbie,thoughts on my combo

I just bought a YSI for my 3400# 91 Z28 and was looking for some input. It`s going on a 406 sbc, production block,9.55:1 comp.,stock Track-1s,hyd. roller .510/.525 232/242@.050 . I`m using a TPIS Mini-ram with 36# injectors in the fuel rails that came with it. I have a Weldon 2015 pump/regulator,-10 into the pump,-8 to the pass. side rail, thru the TPIS balance tube to the driver side rail,-6 to the regulator and back to the tank.
The car goes low 11s @ 117-119mph N/A, low 10s@ 130-132 on a 175 shot. For now I`m looking to duplicate the performance on nitrous with the s/c and go mid 9s later after I replace the block with a Little M.
What size injectors and what modifications to the fuel system will I need? (FAST ecu)
What blower pulley sizes are needed for both setups? I have an 8" 10-rib crank pulley and shift at 6200.
    I`ll also be using a Griffin 3 core a/a intercooler measuring 30"long 6" tall and 3.5" thick.

    Thanks!
    Glen

Sweet Set Up so far. Looks like all you really need are some 55(min) to 60# injectors. Then you'll really be rockin'

As for the FAST system or something like that, not necassary unless you want to spend the money. The weldon 2015 will be fine and so will the lines.
As for pulleys The 8 inch crank and a 3" SC pulley will net you around 15 lbs of boost. This should get you in the nines.

I have a pretty similiar set up: Ford 351 --9.0:1, YSi, similiar cam, damn near same fuel delivery ( except for 60#), and car is 3300#. Car made ~670+ RWHP at 20 psi on 8" and 2.7 SC pulley-- 8 rib and a little slippage at and above 6,000 rpm's. Wanted to make more but too much slippage. Needed belt tighter.

All through a 5 speed. Look at my images, the dyno's of the 3" and 2.7 pulls are there also.

Well,it`s taken some time but it`s up and running, and running well! Went for a drive yesterday and the power is awesome. No belt issues, leaks or any other problems to speak of.I`m using a 3.47 pulley netting 10-11# of boost thru the IC,around 120-130 degrees intake temp.I run 36* total timing N/A,now down to 28 with no signs of detonation:teeth: on 93 octane gas. A/F is around 11.8. Planing on hitting the track next weekend to see what it`s got. Any comments on the tune is appreciated!

Also, had some issues with the blower that were profesionally handled by my dealers,Spence Hart and Ron Rhodes at Rhodes Custom Auto.BIG thanks to these guys for awesome service.

So far looks pretty good. Let us know of your track results. I hope to have some times this Friday or Sat as my tranny and exhaust have changed as well as an upgrade to 10 rib setup and a 8.5" and 3.13" pullies.

351 "stockshort block": -Vortech T-trim (21 psi), Trick Flow Heads, Lunati Cam, Weldon fuel system, Lentech AOD., 3.55 gears, 27" Hoosier QTP's, 3500# with me

Man,132 AND overdrive......can`t beat that! How much boost do you want to see? You should be able to go past 20# without slip easy compared to the 8 rib.
Is there any rule of thumb for retarding timing based on intake temps? I have 8 degrees out from 3200 rpm on up,and I would think that I could leave that in until say 6-7# when temps are around 110*,then ramp out timing after temps climb. All this assuming 93 octane. How about race fuel? Good luck this weekend!

Well, I am making 20 psi now. I ran a 10.66 at 134mph. My 60' was only 1.7x's though. Once I get this figured out the car should run a lot better. I am running the 28 MT DR's.

Good deal, mph says it all.I started out with a 10.60/128,by the end of the day I got it down to a 10.36/131 with a 1.50 60`.Was feeding it 2* per run on C16 and have full timing until 5#.When my ET streets wear out I`m switching to the DR`s too.Saw 10-12# of boost, max air temp of 150*. My best run came on only 9#,seems strange.

    Later,
    Glen

    Glen's 10.36 pass

It was great seeing your car come around so quick Glen, and just a quick peak at the tune up tells me there is alot left in it. Congrats on your new blown ETs. Glad we could be of service for your new combo.
