    Serpentine Belt Issue

    Hey guys

Does anyone else have a problem finding the right length belt after installing your SC. I have a vortech kit with all stock size accessory pullies exept the water pump (its a bigger one) and can't find a belt that fits without the tensioner pushing it against the water pump. 84.2 belt is too small and 84.5 seems to go on but the tension pushes it to the water pump. Is it possible to adjust the tensioner, it seems to push down awfully far. with no belt on the tension will sit about 1.5 cm above the water pump. With the belt on it still pushes it to the limit. I have tried swapping smog pullies and end up in the same situation. Please help with any ideas, my car hasn't been operational in a month due to this.

    Thanks

See if you can devise a way to stretch the shorter belt prior to putting it on, most belts will stretch to some degree after you've installed them and run them for a bit....

How did you fix it? What size belt? What pulley was altered? I( am thinking of altering the tensioner pulley and getting a smller one made so it won't go down as far.

I actually drilled and tapped a new hole in my smog pump delete bracker and moved that up. Then i ltake out the lower powersteering bolt and move it a little, that takes another half inch out.
I use an 84 inch belt.

Where did you get an 84 inch belt? No one in Canada seems to have one. What kind of car is that off? Brand of belt?
