    Need some help

    Need some help

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was driving my car home from work about 30 miles of highway. It started to have a miss like it was down a cylinder or something. Got home and checked the plugs they looked pretty good but i put a new set in it anyway still has a miss. Tried a new set of wires same thing still a miss. When your in netural and give it gas it sounds like its on 7 cylinders and when the rpms come back down it backfires a litle bit. Could it be my msd box or coil or TFI module? What should I try next. Im going ******* crazy. Help!!!

Loose ground somewhere? Do you have the loose ends on your msd taped up? don't ask.........is the tach going crazy?
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

The tach is fine And the wires off the msd are all apart. Think it could be the coil or TFI?

possibily could be the coil or tfi. Do you have spares to swap out>? How about your battery ground? Did you burn any sparkplug wires on headers? this is a pretty hard guess from where i'm sitting.

I have been having the 55lb high impedance injectors on my car fail one at a time. I have been through 2 of them so far. I can tell if they are failing by measuring the resistance across the terminals. So far one failed with an open circuit between the two terminals and the other one failed with the resistance being around 18 ohms.

if i'm not mistaken there is a plug for a crank trigger on the 6Al? Mine was finding ground just a few weeks ago and running like you described. Don't forget to check what chris described.

Put dist in still has a miss. Put 8 new plugs in still has a miss but pulled plugs out and number 2 was wet with gas and number 4 was really wet. Put a timing light on 2 and 4 plug wires and the are getting spark. I even pulled the chip out of the computer thinking it might be that did'nt work. Could my computer of went bad. I have checked everything in the ingnition system. I have no clue???
