    pulley removal

Is some sort of puller required to remove the Novi 2000 pulley? I should have my new Real Street legal pulley coming in soon and need to replace the supplied pulley.

It sure does suck putting a larger pulley on!! Thanks.

what size is the legal pulley now chris? I don't plan on changing right now, but want to buy one so I could be legal if I decided to race realstreet. Do you think I could get one from paxton?

When I called Paxton, they told me that they were planning to make one eventually, but they didn't have an estimate when it would be available. I purchased mine from Reichard Racing and it shipped out yesterda. They have a prettly slick pulley.

Also, I was told that March has them in stock too. The supplied pulley is 3.50 and the legal pulley is now 3.70.

    Hopefully no slip at all.

So has anyone removed the factory installed pulley before? I haven't tired yet, but I was curious what I need to look out for and how to not damage my current pulley.

The Procharger pulleys used to slide right off with a little heat.

I wonder why no-one has answered yet? Maybe because they are afraid Paxton is watching ;) LOL

Well I'm well out of warranty, the pulleys slide off fairly easily.

Thanks, I will give it a shot as soon as my new pulley comes in. NMRA just caused us all to technically void our warranty even though we are spinning it slower.

You will have to cut off the seal that comes from Paxton with a knife of somesort(boxcutter followed by scissors works good) then remove the bolt and the pulley slides right off. BUT, when removing the pulley, keep your hand underneath the pulley shaft, there are two keys on there that will usually fall out when the pulley is removed.

Every Novi I have seen has had the plastic cover over the bolt. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Oh well. That's how you change the pulley.
