    Clutch quadrant question

When replacing the stock plastic quadrant with the FRPP aluminum one are any spacers/shims required. The thickness of the plastic and aluminum quadrants are not the same (aluminum is thinner). With only the stock retaining clips installed the aluminum quadrant has almost a 1/4" of play side to side. Will it just stay centered/aligned with the clutch cable on its own?

I made spacers for mine. I used some old control arm bushings, the metal insert and I cut them so the quadrant is positioned like the stock one was. I have not hooked up the cable or driven the car yet, so I cant tell you how it will work,, but it should be fine. The store I bought it from told me I should shim it, and they dont know why the manufacturers dont supply shims with them..... Lee
