New intake and cam, advice, help, suggestions

    Current Combo
    AFR 165's 58cc (stock springs)
    scorpion 1.6 rockers
Cobra Intake, mild, unkno lower port job
    Lunati cam 107* lobe seperation
    S trim 10 psi
    42#ers
    70 MM TB
    80 Pro M
    AFM powerpipe
    1 5/8 long tubes
SCT custom tune, the A/F is dead flat 11.5:1
    91 octane

So the cam is not the best friend of the blower.
Custom or OTS cam? if OTS which one?
I am strongly considering doing a intake swap as its gotta come off anyhow.
I also think the stock springs and retainers will be upgraded.

car makes 410/403 on a dynojet.

    NO a/c,p/s,smog
    Eletric fan/waterpump

I would like to make 460+ then call it good.
6k rpm max, street drive weekend toy.

    now what say you?

this cam should work great with the cobra intake and 165's and provide perfect drivability. Comp has some other great cams as well. As mentioned i'd upgrade the springs. Of course a custom will probably cost $80 more but you do get what you pay for. For what you want i wouldn't trade the cobra for anything.
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

Hmm, will the cobra always peak power at 5500 rpm?
I do like the intake, but I want to be north of 460 rwhp when Im done with this round of flip em, flop em, swap em.

I wish I knew cam specs better, Iactually dont think I need a custom cam for what I am after.

I could get that cam and new springs and be good to go....

I like the thought of that.

    Thanks for the info.

it should be north of 5500. I'd say around 5900-6000. If you want to go a lil bigger I wouldn't blame you but on the other hand this cam I listed you probably wouldn't have any ill driving effects.

    Wellp..

Drunk Ebaying and I won a RPM II for 400 even, brand new, I didnt think it would go for that.

So with that said I will be running it, would that change the reccomendations of the cam?

check out the 284HR @ the bottom of the page in the blower section. I'd either put that or the TFS 1 or 2 in it.

But I think the 284HR would be optimum.
