I am sure this has been discussed somewhere... but I can't find it in search.

The 170K miles 302 motor has finally given up the ghost.

I am on a $5K budget... total.

Give me some ideas! I am seeing stroked 392 - 408 combinations for as low as $1,800.00 (cast crankshaft) and the whopping 440 inch combination is absolutely tempting! This is for a short block only... and it will require sfi 28 oz flywheel and balancer, timing chain, push rods, camshaft, lifters, oil pan, pickup, oil pump / drive, distributor, larger 42lbs injectors, upgraded MAF (a C&L unit is on car and will require a sampling tube changed out) motor mounts, 351W trick flow R lower intake, shorty headers, ac/power steering brackets, MSD distributor, a complete gasket set, the larger 351W head bolts...

and how and the Hell am I going to get the Novi 1000 supercharger to mount on it?

Has anyone done this swap yet?

What parts will I need to make this happen?

Do I use flat top forged pistons... or dished with a combination such as this? I expect compression to be somewhere between 10.5 to 11.5 with 64 CC heads with flat tops. The Novi currently has an 8lb pulley on it.
