I have 2 Greddy BOV's 40mm diameter each. I removed one of the springs from inside each unit and spring tension is quite soft. One is before the IC, one after. I do get some flutter when closing the throttle from very high rpm's, but generally, I hear the air being dumped as it should be.

I just fitted a 63" belt ( as opposed to 64" I was using, and photographed ), and tightened as you describe. At 80lbft, I get slippage over 10psi.
Tightening it to 120lbft, there is no slip, but damn it feels tight. So far with a few quick blasts, the belt has stayed intact, and on the inner grooves.

Im thinking perhaps, the belt on the long side, is vibrating, touching the belt around the idler, and maybe this is causing it to tear apart ?
On the long side of the belt between crank and blower, there is approx 19" of belt not touching any pulleys.

Thats the way its gona stay for now. Belt tightened to 80lbft until I race tomorrow at which point I'll tighten it up. I leave tonight around midnight for Scotland, then have roughly a 375mile drive through Scotland and England to the track. After that its another 400 mile drive back up North past Edinburgh to Crail to another track on Sunday. Once racing is done, its about a 250mile drive to get the boat back home again.
Fingers crossed everything will run smoothly. I have a spare 63 and 64" belt with me.

Its so crap not having any dragstrips in this country :(

    Great weekend.

    :teeth: BELT STAYS INTACT:teeth:

Only just arrived home from a long weekend.
Left late Friday, and drove about 350 miles to Stratford upon Avon for a RWYB day. Last one of the year at Avon, and my first time there. Good track, and luckily not too many cars. Mostly drag cars, yanks, that type of thing. Didnt they get a shock :D. I was surprised how slow dedicated drag cars can be.
Fastest time was as shown, 11.177 @ 130.33mph. Fastest terminal of the day was 134.22mph on an 11.22sec run. Nice track, not too busy. Well, not busy at all in fact. Longest queue was 2 cars while I was there lol
I have some video clips, so will post when I get a chance. I dont think I have the 11.17 run, but defo have the 11.22 @ 134 run.
Finally the Nittos are starting to work for me. I was too scared to try and launch the car before, but trying seems to work. Added to that, Avon Park seems a nice sticky track.

I then drove up to Crail in Scotland, which was about 420 miles for a Ford meet on Sunday.
Until about 3pm I was the fastest car there with 11.63 @ 133mph, until a WRC style Focus race car ( 4x4 Escort running gear, straight cut dog box, slicks etc etc ) just pipped me with 11.55s @ 115mph.
Crail isnt a very good surface, so 2wd cars suffer badly. I was glad to even stay in the 11's there, so more than pleased with 11.6s.

Finally left Crail around 6ish, then headed back to Cairnryan for the boat home. All in all around 900miles or so...Would have been nice to hit 10's, but very pleased with the weekends fun. I went faster than my previous best, which is all I ever hope to do.
I was actually going to try and hit Santa Pod too for the Sat night racing, but that would have meant driving to Crail through Sat night/Sun morn, with no sleep again, which was never going to be a good idea. As it was it took us until about 10pm to get to Crail.
But 3 drag strips in one weekend would have been nice. 2's good though

Just get your launch figured out and get a decent 60' and you should be in the 10's. Good mph but probably a little high since spinning so bad.

I think the launch was pretty good, and dont honeslty seeing it getting that much better with what I have. Although that doesnt mean I wont try.
