    O Ring GT 40 Heads

This board seems like the best place to ask this question. I have a set of ported and polished GT-40 heads that have the O ring grooves cut in them. While this may seem like a good thing, I'm building this motor for a boat - and the marine head gaskets are different than automotive head gaskets.

So, I guess there are a few questions. Can an O ringed head be used with standard gaskets without any problems? If not, what options are available? I could shave the heads down, but am afraid of the increase in compression and intake alignment issues. Does somebody make just the wire to fill that void?

    Any other suggestions? Thanks,

    Charlie

    o-ring

i read on speedtalk and dragraceresults. that you can fill the ring with dead soft copper wire and file it down to serface and use it like that for stock or cometic gasket.
