Hey-
I've been waiting on my crank from Scat for about 8 months now. This has given me so much time to second guess my cam that it's making me sick. I've not only changed my mind several times, I've also bought and sold several cams that I planned on using. I guess part of my problem is that I keep consulting different people who are real knowledgeable on cams and keep getting totally different reccomondations. Anyways, the custom cam I just got, modeled by a highly respected racer, is a little unusual. The guy building my engine told me it wouldn't work. What do you all think? Specs below:
The hydrolic roller cam:
-206/248 @.05
-532/585 (1.6/1.7 rockers)
-116 LSA
-112 ICL
-IVO-9btdc/IVC-35abdc
-EVO-64bbdc/EVC-4atdc
The engines's going into a 3300lb 65 Mustang fastback
with the full Griggs GR-350 suspension, a T-56
(2.97/2.07/1.43/1.00/.80/.62),275's and a 3.7:1 9"
using 91 octane gas. The engine may get spun as high
as 6500 rpm's.
This is going to be a 95% street car - city, highway,
and mountain driving. It will see open track events 5%
of the time. I need it to be easy to drive (no lumpy
idle).
The engine:
-Dart 348 (302 based - 3.25 stroke and 4.125 bore)
-AFR 205's with just a valve job (set up for hydrolic)
-8.5:1 CR
-Holley SysteMax II with clean up porting and port
match
-Novi 2000 with 8 pounds
-1 7/8" custom headers with 3" exhaust
-EFI to be determined (62lb injectors)
Thanks-
Craig
