I spent Easter weekend installing my Skinny Kid motor plate kit. This was one of the more ambitious projects I've taken on, and I'm so wiped out that I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves.

The one thing the photo doesn't show is the fact that the motor sits much lower with the Skinny Kid motor plates. Not only will I have to modify the outlet from the intercooler, but the steering rack now hits the oil pan (found that out the hard way). I'm probably lacking a good 3/8" to have sufficient room. I'm still trying to decide what to do, but I'm leaning towards fabricating some 6061 aluminum stock as a spacer for the K-member - at least that will be a breeze to remove now.

How about offset rack bushings...use them to lower the rack a bit?

Thanks - I'm already using them. I ended up fabricating some 1/2" aluminum spacers to get the bucket rolling. The long term solution was to order an AJE K-member with 1.5" dropped steering rack mounts. That should be finished in a couple more weeks.
