I'm going the turbo route myself. Using a modified Borg Warner S400 turbo, flipped shorty headers and some mandrel bent tubing.
From what I've seen, there are more than a few people making 1000hp and more with a Dart 302-347, good heads, a regular Ford "F" cam and a big turbo like a T88. Blow through carbs seem popular too. At that power level, seems like it's just about mandatory to go with a big water core intercooler inside the car.
