    Boost

Is it possible that I can get a (high) false boost reading at the carb hat? Two gauges say I am getting 12lbs on a 434 SBC with a P1. Procharger says its not possible. Thx

The most accurate place to collect boost readings is within the plenum(intake manifold) if the carburetor IS a restriction(to small) it would be possible to have a false boost pressure reading.

:glasses:the boost hat pressure should be referenced to the fuel press regulator.
the pressure @ base of the carb/intake is the true boost that the engine sees.
you could monitor the boost hat pressure compared to the pressure @ base of the carb/intake to see the restriction of the carb.
some people also monitor pressure before and after the intercooler for the same reasons.
