Does anyone know if ATI sells there intake tubes polished? I'm looking for the 2 tubes under the hood. If so, How much do they go for?

What "intake tubes" are you refering to? The intake tube to the blower? Or the discharge tubing to the throttle body?
The last tubes that connect to the TB. The ones showing in the engine compartment.

I could be wrong, but I don't beleive that ATI makes those tubes in chrome. What most people do that I know of is take them off, have them sent out to Jet Hot to have coated for a nicer look and less heat-soak. Jet Hot coating looks like polished aluminum... all of the time and is a durable finish. Or you could take them off and have somebody actually chrome plate them too if you wanted to, but I don't think that ATI makes them in chrome. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I called ATI and left a voice mail. It might sound crazy, but I do polishing I just don't have the time to do it right now. Thats why I was asking for the easy way out. Ah what the hell, I'll stop and get them blasted. Maybe I'll get to them this weekend;)
Thanks Marc

Yea, on my non-intercooled P1SC, I am going to have my discharge tube painted body color... I don't have anything really else chrome under the hood... a little, but not enough, so I am going to have that done instead.
You might check with ATI> I believe that you can get the tubes chromed but the cost might make it worth your time to do it yourself.
Good Luck,
Chris
You might just want to go ahead and do it yourself... it sounds like it is going to be a better deal all around anyway. Besides, it is too damn cold and snowy/salty to take the Mustang out anyway... so why not just do it while it is sitting (assuming that you don't drive it every day).
Yea, I'm gonna do them myself. I just dropped them off to get blasted. I havn't driven the car in about a month anyway. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Yea, please do... I'd like to see how it turns out.
The problem with polishing the procharger pipes is they are mild steel. They will not hold up. I polished mine 2-3 times and got tired of it. They will rust at the least bit of moisture.
You can see in this picture the tubes over near the blower are polished and the one coming up to the intake is powder coated. It rusted worse than the others so I powder coated it in "almost chrome"
On my turbo kit, we are building the intercooler pipes out of stainless, so hopefully they will stay looking relatively good.

Why not just do what WA2FAST suggested and have them ceramic coated (Jet-Hot)?
The finish is durable, heat resistant and not bad looking either. Mine was done this way.

I polished some steel before and used Dimond clear from Eastwoods and never had a problem with rusting. I am polishing my head unit and wanted it to match.Originally posted by TurboCobra

TurboCobra... man that looks nice. John, I have admired your car in and out for years, very nice work all of the way around. I just got a bran new discharge tube from ATI yesterday and it is that silver color and looks sweet. I was going to origionaly paint it body color, but I really like the way it looks... now you guys are making me think twice.
